New 2020 model Alienware m17 R3 (AWm17-7296WHT-PUS) is a 17.3-inch Full HD gaming laptop with the latest advanced specs and features including the tenth generation Intel i7-10759H processor, RTX 2070 graphics card with 8GB GDDR6 dedicated memory, 1TB Solid State Drive, 16GB DDR4 SDRAM, Windows 10 Home operating system and modern connectivity options.

Alienware m17 R3 has a very sturdy and durable construction with the solid materials like the magnesium alloy, steel and copper that also give it a rather premium look and feel. With the iconic AlienFX lighting, you can enjoy a performance focused gaming. The Alienware Cryo-Tech keeps the components and the laptop cool and helps improve your overall performance. This gaming laptop is lighter and slimmer than before as it weights only 4.65 pounds and is 0.81 inches thin.

The quarter one of 2020 release octa-core Intel i7-10750H processor (6 cores, 12 threads) runs at a base speed of 2.60 GHz up to 5.0 GHz with the turbo boost function. It has a Passmark benchmark score of 12803 and even the most demanding applications will run smoothly on this machine. And with the efficient high-tech laptop cooling system you will have a generally cool machine except for when you’re paying the latest demanding games at the high settings. The typical Thermal Design Power is 45 watts and with so much power of the processor and the graphics card you can’t expect a battery life longer than 2-3 hours, especially when you’re gaming.

17.3″ Full HD screen has Alienware‘s quickest panel with a 300Hz refresh rate and 3ms response rate, and it has the 300 nits of brightness. So you can enjoy very fast motion graphics when you’re gaming with the enhanced overall performance. The blue light rays’ emissions are reduced with a unique blue light technology without the picture quality being reduced. Intel UHD 630 iGPU is the integrated graphics card on the i7-10750H processor and lets you play the low demanding games at the low settings and resolutions and can handle your day-to-day graphics tasks when browsing the internet or streaming videos.

The RTX 2070 16245 on this Alienware is the third fastest desktop graphics card after th RTX 2080 in the Turing line-up of NVIDIA. You can play most of the triple-A games of 2019-2020 in 4K UHD resolution and high frame rates per second. The video card benchmark score of 16245 means you can play all the latest demanding games at the high settings and resolutions. It offers great sound with the virtual 7.1 surround sound and powerful high-fidelity 40mm drivers for an enhanced, immersive gaming performance. There is a good quality webcam on the top bezel when you want to play the games with friends, chat live on Skype or take still photos.

Alienware m17 R3 weighs 5.51 pounds and measures 15.74 x 11.59 x 0.89 inches. The heat is dissipated efficiently by Alienware’s Vapor Chamber technology that has a vapor chamber between the processor and the copper heat pipes. The dual fan design pulls the cool air in from the bottom and top vents and exhales the exhaust out the side and back vents to give you an ideal cooling solution, especially for the core components of the laptop. The latest m17 model has about 35% better heat dissipation than the previous m17 and much more copper material by weight.

The 16GB RAM is plenty of memory, comes soldered in and the maximum amount supported is 32GB. 1TB Solid State Drive is quite a generous amount for you to save many games and other multimedia files. The backlit keyboard has a 1.7mm key travel, anti-ghosting technology and 4-zone RGB N-Key rollover. And there is a precision point glass premium touchpad that appears to be responsive. It can get a little hot when you play the triple-A games at the highest settings, but generally runs cool. There is not much wrong with this high-end Alienware gaming laptop with the advanced features and premium look and feel. It is an expensive machine and you’re getting what you pay for.
