With a PassMark benchmark score of 12838 you’ll be fine even with the most demanding applications. And it can handle plenty of multitasking, also combined with the generous high-bandwidth 16GB DDR4 memory (1x16GB) at 2666MHz speed. It can be upgraded up to 64GB on two sockets if you have very high RAM and multitasking needs. Unless you’ll be saving lots of games and other multimedia files, 512GB offers good amount of storage space and plenty of speed. You can always connect an external HDD drive for your very large files, especially the games.
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 on the base model has an impressive video card benchmark score of 14743 at the time of this product review. It has a 6G GDDR6 dedicated memory and can be compared to the high end GTX 1660 Ti gaming GPU. And with a video card benchmark score of 1445, it is a capable built-in GPU that is also similar to the AMD Vega 8 and Vega 10 in terms of overall performance and will let you play some of the new game titles smoothly at low to medium settings and resolutions. MSI GS66 Stealth weighs 4.63 pounds and measures 14.17 x 9.65 x 0.71 inches, so it is fairly slim for a powerful gaming laptop. It has a 4-cell 99.9Whr lithium polymer battery but with such powerful specs and gaming card you probably shouldn’t expect more than 2-3 hours of battery life. Keyboard is the 84-key Steel Series per-Key RGB with Anti-Ghost key.
You can run the virtual reality set-ups like the Oculus Rift on this machine but being a laptop rather than a very powerful desktop, you may experience a bit of jittering. Please note that the red/orange backlighting and pulse effect can not be changed on the keyboard. You can hear a bit of fan noise as you can expect on a powerful gaming machine, but it will not be as loud as some others. It is a very good quality machine with a very sturdy construction, good hardware and top specs and features. In the box you’ll find the MSI GS66 laptop, an AC power adaptor and a user manual. It is a decent powerful gaming machine that is also designed for multimedia and business purposes.
