Lenovo IdeaCentre  is an entry level desktop computer with an AMD A9-9425 processor, 1TB Solid State Drive, 16GB DDR4 SDRAM memory, modern connectivity options including the DVD-RW Optical Drive, 802.11ax wireless, and connectivity options including 802.11ac wireless, Bluetooth & HDMI output.

The quarter two of 2018 release dual core AMD A9-9425 processor (1M cache, 2 threads without the hyper-threading) works at the speeds between 3.10GHz and 3.70GHz with the max boost function. The average CPU Passmark benchmark score is 1547 at the time of this post release and is only suited for the daily low demanding tasks. The typical TDP- Thermal Design Power is 15 watts on the AMD A9 processor for a low energy consumption. 

16GB DDR4 high-bandwidth RAM will let you run different apps and browser tabs smoothly at the same time. The local storage is upgraded to 1TB Solid State Drive and is great for much quicker boot ups and date transfer and plenty of storage space. The latest Windows 11 Home operating system is pre-installed on this machine and has a nicer interface that is more similar to the Mac OS’ with the taskbar in the middle and the browsers’ round corners. 

The built-in AMD Radeon R5 on this Lenovo IdeaCentre shares the memory with the main CPU and with a videocard benchmark score of around 575 it is an entry level graphics card with just enough capacity to handle your daily needs like web browsing, streaming and playing Youtube videos and basic gaming. There is a slot for a dedicated graphics if you want to add one but please check how much the system can handle from the speeds. This is a budget priced computer with an entry level processor after all. So you can’t really have high expectations in terms of gaming. 

Connectivity options include 802.11 ac WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0, RJ-45 Ethernet connector, 4 x USB 2.0 ports, 2 x USB 3.1 ports, 7-in-1 Media Card Reader, a VGA output, an HDMI  output, 2 x Microphones at the front and rear, 2 x Headphones at the front and rear, and an Audio Out at the rear. Silver Lenovo IdeaCentre 310S Mini Tower weighs 9.4 pounds and measures 11.7 x 3.5 x 13.5  inches. Itis a good quality entry level desktop computer that is easy to set up and offers good value for money. If you will not be playing the advanced games, edit multimedia or run complex, demanding software you will be fine with it. It is a great little desktop machine for use as a home computer or by students. October 14, 2021 is the date it was first available at Amazon.com.
