Kangaroo Mobile Desktop Pro (MD2B, HD1B)

Kangaroo Mobile Desktop Pro (MD2B, HD1B) is promoted as the smallest portable desktop computer in the world and is the upgraded and more capable version of the original Kangaroo mobile desktop with Dock Pro added, that changes any screen into a full Windows 10 computer experience and is suitable for both the professionals on the go or for entertainment purposes at home. It has the quad core Intel Atom x5-Z8500 processor at 1.44GHz speed up to 2.24GHz with turbo boost, 2GB LPDDR3 RAM memory for adequate multitasking, 32GB eMMC Flash Drive for storage which is not a lot as this is such a compact unit and you will be using more of Cloud or external storage as well, 64-bit Windows 10 Home edition pre-installed and Win Hello Integration that comes with TPM 2.0. and a Fingerprint Reader for security and personalisation.

Intel Atom x5-Z8500 is similar to Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 in performance and is good for basic daily computing, Office, internet or light games but not the latest games or very complex programs. Graphics card is Intel HD (Cherry Trail) with shared memory. There is the OSLinx app designed for iPad and iPhone that lets you interact easily and have full access to your Kangaroo Windows desktop and control the Win 10 computer through your iPhone or iPad- seamlessly move from iPad to PC and you can also enjoy XBox streaming in any room through the new Kangaroo Pro, acting as a great little media center. You can view your multimedia content on different screens and Windows 10 Anywhere on Any Screen and can also easily connect from the PC to TV. The new black Kangaraoo has a smart and modern design, premium looking aluminium case, weighs 1.5 lbs and measures 6.73 x 3.39 x 1.31 inches as a handheld device- very compact and portable as you can just slip it into your pocket or purse and take your tablet with you and you have your screen and a fully functional computer.

Kangaroo (MD2B, HD1B) Desktop Pro doesn’t have an Optical Drive but includes the 802.11ac wireless for very decent internet connection, Bluetooth 4.0, Ethernet port, microSD TF slot that supports SDSC, SDHC and SDXC formats, a USB 3.0 port, 2 x USB 2.0 ports, an HDMI output, a VGA output, a 1/8 inch Audio port for headphones, 2.5 inch HDD Bay (Dock Pro combines this 2.5 inch HDD bay and the other ports and outputs). Hot pluggability (the ability to add or remove peripherals to the computer when the system is running) between several dock locations (libraries, bedroom, living room, classrooms, office or meeting room) is possible with a built-in lithium ion battery with 4 hours of battery life and modular design. It is quite a capable Windows unit in such a small package that lets you stream your mp4 media content to four devices without problems, but like with any computer you will need a keyboard, mouse and a screen or your tablet for all these three. With the new Dock Pro you are getting another USB 2.0 port, a VGA port, an Ethernet port, an Audio port and a 2.5” hard drive bay- that you didn’t have in the original Kangaroo, so it is more than twice as thick and costs twice as much and it seems to be worth every penny.
