Pros & Cons: Pros: Inside of the Mini is easy accessible with removable cover (to clean or upgrade RAM etc.) - No Virus programs (just like other Macs) - All software belongs to one company (Apple) - Very easy to set up - Great picture quality - Very user friendly - Works with any type of keyboard / mouse / touchpad (doesn't have to be Apple) - Good sound quality.

Cons: 4GB RAM (sufficient and also easily upgradeable) - Ports at the back can be harder to access.

Apple Mac Mini MD387LL/A is a solid little desktop with good design and great performance. It is the introductory model of Apple desktops and happens to be affordable too- unlike other Apple Mac models.

With fast Dual core Intel Core i5 2.5 GHz (Turbo Boost up to 3.1GHz) with 3MB L3 cache, you can multitask with no problems. I had 25 tabs open as well as music and video, it worked as if I had 1 tab open.

It comes with with 4 GB (two 2GB) SDRAM of 1600MHz DDR3. Although not a lot of RAM, you can easily upgrade it to 8GB or 16 GB and doesn't cost much (under $50 for 8GB RAM).

500 GB (5400-rpm) hard drive Serial ATA is plenty of space to save all your files. 5400 RPM hard drive speed is standard these days but more than sufficient for the price.

Intel HD Graphics 4000 with screen resolution 1920x12000 up to max screen resolution of 2560 x 1600. You will experience amazing picture quality on your HDTV or good quality monitor.

Connectivity: 802.11n wireless (IEEE 802.11a/b/g compatible), Gigabit Ethernet, DVI to HDMI cable (very handy if your screen is not HDMI), 4 x USB 3.0 ports, an SDXC card slot, Bluetooth 4.0, Thunderbolt port up to 10 Gbps(to connect to a second new generation screen or peripheral), Built in speaker, VGA output, Dual-link DVI output, FireWire 800 port (up to 800 Mbps), Audio in/out, IR receiver.

Sleek silver tiny compact case that looks good and simple.. It has a removable cover underneath.

Mac OS X Mountain Lion is quite easy to use and you can always install Windows 7 with the Bootcamp that comes with all Macs.

Weight: 1 pound, so very very portable.

Dimensions: 7.70 x 7.70 x 1.40 inches, fits under the monitor or LCD screen easily.

Conclusion: Apple Mac Mini MD387LL is great for daily computing- school, home, work or entertainment. Although the introductory model to Macs, it is fast and powerful for most tasks- especially with the ease of upgrades. Although it is not a huge gaming or video editing machine, by simply upgrading the RAM to 8GB or 16GB the machine will be more capable of the most demanding tasks.

Macs last much longer than PCs, maintaining the same performance levels till the end. PCs at this machine's price range may have slightly better specs, you shouldn't be comparing Apple with PC as they function completely differently. Not to be missed at this price..
