The latest release 2020 model HP Pavilion 15-DK0051WM is a 15.6-inch gaming laptop with a Full HD touch display, green backlit keyboard, advanced GTX 1050 graphics card, 9th generation Intel i5-9300H processor, 8GB memory, 256GB Solid State Drive and Windows 10 Home operating system for a mid-range gaming and high-end general performance.
The quarter 2 of 2019 release quad core Intel i5-9300H processor works at a speed range of 2.4GHz to 4.1GHz with the Intel Turbo Boost function. It has a Passmark benchmark score of 9881 and a Typical Thermal Design Power-TDP of 45 watts. It is a decent gaming laptop with a sturdy construction of the case and the decent internal components, a beautiful sleek and modern design, good picture and sound quality and more than reasonable gaming performance at the lower price point.
The quad core Intel i5-9300H processor is good enough for demanding applications and games. Intel HD 630 graphics has a video card benchmark score of 1141 at the time of this review and can play some of the latest games at reduced settings and resolutions. 8 GB DDR4 SDRAM at 2666MHz is good amount of memory for having different apps and browsers simultaneously without lagging. 256 GB PCIe NVMe M.2 SSD is very fast with a speed that you’ll feel in your computing and offers adequate amount of storage if you don’t have too many multimedia files.
HP Pavilion 15-DK0051WM weighs 4.89 pounds and measures 14.2 x 10 x 0.9 inches. It has a nice looking and functional case with the properly placed cooling ducts that keep the system cool even when the processor and the GPU are pushed to the limit. The keyboard has the beautiful neon green backlighting without the brightness adjustment and there is a large and responsive HP ImagePad touchpad that supports multi gestures and a numeric keypad. Sound quality is very good with the Bang & Olufsen Audio and through the dual stereo speakers.

The NVIDIA GTX 1050 graphics card has the 3GB GDDR5 dedicated memory and a video card benchmark score of 4789. It is not the fastest GPU on the market but great for the price level of an entry level gaming machine. You can play the modern games at high settings and Full HD resolution. It offers similar performance to the GTX 960M and you can expect high performance in general multimedia and mid-range gaming.
