2019 ASUS VivoBook F510QA 15.6″ FHD Laptop

ASUS VivoBook F510QA 15.6-inch WideView Full HD

The 2019 model ASUS VivoBook F510QA is a 15.6-inch WideView Full HD laptop with a mid-range quad core AMD A12 processor, 4GB memory, 128GB SSD, Windows 10 S mode, good battery life, Radeon R7 graphics card and decent connectivity options.

The quarter 2 2017 release quad core AMD A12-9720P runs at speeds between 2.7 and 3.6GHz for an adequate day-to-day performance for web and office apps and mid-range multitasking. It has a Passmark benchmark score of 4000 as a mid-range CPU and a TDP of 15 watts for better battery performance. It is a little faster than the A12-9700P and is more or less equal to the SkyLake Intel i3 processors like the i3-4010U (single core) and i3-5010U (multiple cores).

The performance on this Asus is somewhat limited- dropped when put through heavy workload due to the low TDP of 15 watts. 128GB Solid State Drive is good for speed and OK storage space. You really can’t complain as you’re getting a fast SSD rather than a much slower HDD storage. Windows 10 in S mode is pre-installed on this machine and you can enjoy its user-friendly interface. 4GB DDR4 SDRAM at 2400MHz is adequate amount of memory or multitasking power at this low price point. Connectivity options include the 802.11ac wireless, an HDMI output, a USB 3.0, a USB 2.0, and a USB 3.1 Type-C. It has a chiclet keyboard with an ergonomic design and a fingerprint sensor.

15.6″ anti-glare FHD WideView screen with the ASUS Splendid software enhancement has the 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution for clear images. The Radeon R7 is good enough for web browsing, simple photo editing, streaming videos and light gaming. Radeon R7 (Bristol Ridge) graphics card at 758MHz is built into the AMD A12 processor and with a videocard benchmark score of 931, performs a bit better ASUS VivoBook F510QA WideView FHD 15.6 than the previous Carrizo Radeon R7 and is similar to the dedicated NVIDIA 920MX. You can play some of the latest games at lower settings and resolutions. The screen is 14.2 inches wide and 0.8 inches thin with a 0.3-inch NanoEdge bezel for an awesome 80% screen to body ratio.

Asus VivoBook weighs 5.52 pounds with the measurements of 14.2 x 10.1 x 0.8 inches- is compact, lightweight and portable for when you’re out and about. You can expect up to 6 hours of battery life from its lithium polymer battery in light use. The Asus F510QA is a decent laptop overall with a reasonable AMD A12 processor, mid-range Radeon R7 graphics card, a sharp Full HD display, a responsive keyboard, fast internet connection and good sound quality. If you encounter dropping wireless signal problem, just get Windows reinstall the previous WiFi driver through the device manager>network adapters>Realtek wireless LAN>Driver>Roll back driver. It is quite a nice laptop overall at a low price.
