2020 HP x360 14″ FHD 2-in-1 Touch Chromebook

2020 HP Chromebook x360 Laptop

2020 model HP Chromebook x360 is a 2-in-1 laptop with a 360-degree flip-and-fold design around a 14” Full HD touch display, 8th generation Intel i3 processor, 64gb eMMC flash storage, 8GB memory, Chrome operating system, good connectivity options and up to 10 hours of battery life.

The Intel i3-8130U (4MB cache) is an ultra low voltage, dual core processor with a four-way processing. It was first released in the quarter 2 of 2018 and has a current benchmark score of 5014, with a performance level better than the Intel i5-7200U processor. It runs at a base speed of 2.2GHz up to 3.4GHz with the Intel Turbo Boost function and is capable of handling all sorts of Chrome tasks. The typical thermal design- TDP power is 15 watts to help with the better battery life.

You get quite a bit of multitasking power with the 8GB DDR4 SDRAM at 2133MHz and it won’t be a problem to have a few apps and browsers open at the same time. 64GB eMMC flash storage is not much in terms of local space and you’ll need to be using Cloud storage and get to your files wherever you have internet access. But it is good for speed (much more than regular SATA drive) and faster boot-ups. And it supports the HD video playback.

HP Chromebook x360 looks good with a modern design, weighs 3.7 pounds and measures 12.8 x 8.6 x 0.6 inches. The 14-inch diagonal WLED-backlit Full HD touchscreen has the micro-edge bezels and edge-to-edge glass with the multitouch functionality. The resolution is 1920 x 1080 pixels and the panel is IPS with large viewing angles. Intel UHD 620 graphics card has a benchmark score of 1073 for daily media tasks and playing the Chrome games without problems. You can expect the performance level of the dedicated NVIDIA GeForce 920M GPU.

Chrome OS comes with many Google apps you can download, and some can replace the common Windows apps. There is not much of virus attacks against Chrome and it comes with the built-in security and automatic updates. Connectivity options include the 802.11ac WiFi 2020 HP Chromebook x360 Laptop i3 8130Uand Bluetooth 4.2 combo, 2 x USB 3.1 gen 1 Type-C with the charging and power delivery, a USB 3.1 gen 1 port with the HP Sleep and Charge), a microSD media card reader, and a headphone/microphone combo.

It doesn’t include an optical drive and you can get one cheaply and hook up to one of the USB ports or wirelessly via Bluetooth. Battery life should be around 10 hours from its 3-cell, 60 Wh Li-ion polymer battery, but will very much rely no how you use the computer. There is a HD webcam on the top bezel and the sound is reasonable at this level through the two Bang & Olufsen speakers. To sum up, you have a powerful Chromebook with a variety of modern features, at a reasonable price. We are happy to recommend it to those on the market for a decent Chromebook.
