ViewSonic VX3211-4K-MHD, 32″ 4K UHD Monitor
ViewSonic VX3211-4K-MHD is one of the most affordable 32-inch monitors on the market and happens to have a 4K Ultra HD display, rather than a 2K or FHD. It has great features like the AMD FreeSync, HDR10, 99% sRGB color coverage, a MEGA dynamic contrast ratio of 80M:1, 2 x HDMI 2.0 ports and a DisplayPort.
You’ll experience vibrant colors and good contrast and an overall decent screen experience. We’re not surprised it is quite a popular 32″ 4K monitor at Amazon.com. You have three other options on the product page at the time of this post release. And these are ViewSonic’s 32″ 1440p, 32″ FHD curved and 43″ 4K monitors. These monitors have an average customer rating of 4.2 out of 5 stars at the time of this product review. And the negative reviews are mainly to do with certain defects and the customers having received refurbished items from different sellers, or more about their heavy gaming needs like very high refresh rates.
The 4K UHD 32″ version we’re reviewing today has a nice enough standard appearance overall, with not thick and not super thin bezels. The build quality is decent and it is extremely lightweight for what it is. The advantage of working on a large display monitor with such a high resolution is you can multitask efficiently and do it all on the same screen on different windows. It will work very well for things like web design or content creation or use any office related apps like document editing or spreadsheets. It can also be great for home entertainment and gaming as it shows you the greatest details that you can’t see on a 2K or FHD display.
You’ll also enjoy the smoother frame rates with the AMD Free Sync technology if your computer has an AMD graphics card. With the HDR10 content support you’ll view the videos properly as it gives you a more immersive experience. It prevents any tearing, stuttering or jerkiness. The typical brightness is 300 cd/m2 and you shouldn’t have any problems with the brightness of how well the images look. You have 4 times more pixels on a 4K (3840 x 2160) than a regular Full HD display with the 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution and you’ll get to see a lot more detail thanks to this very high pixel density of 140.
ViewSonic WX3211-4K measures 729.7mm (W) x 432.8mm (H) x 64.32mm (D) without the stand and 729.7mm (W) x 495.5mm (H) x 230.31mm (D) with the stand. So you need a bit of desk space for putting this large monitor. But the bezels are slim and you have more viewing space and will need less desk space than a standard 32″ monitor. You can use this ViewSonic with any laptops or PCs that run Windows or Mac OS as long as they have the HDMI 2.0 and DisplayPort inputs. You’ll get the power cable, an HDMI cable and a DP cable in the box for 4K 60Hz image and you won’t need to buy any other cables. Please check the availability of DP cable with the seller.
With the built-in PIP (Picture in Picture) mode you can use different sources like computer and TV to view more things at the same time. It has the Blue Light filter and the Flicker-Free technology to help get rid of any eye strain for longer periods of time. You can choose from different optimized preset viewing modes like Mono, Text, Web, Game or Movie.
The brightness, color temp, gamma curve and contrast are all adjusted for a much better viewing experience. It comes with the two 2.5-watt speakers for an OK sound that is similar to laptops, if you don’t want the clutter on your desk or more cables. The SuperClear MVA panel technology you’ll experience good picture quality with consistent brightness, vivid and accurate colors and details when you look at the display from different angles. The VA panel on this monitor is not as good as an IPS panel, but heaps better than a TN panel. Both the DisplayPort 1.2a and the HDMI 2.0 ports on this monitor support the 4K 3840 x 2160-pixel resolution.
The worst thing about this monitor is the control panel with many buttons on the right hand side at the back. But once you get used to it you shouldn’t have any problems adjusting quickly. It is a very decent large monitor for every tasks- both work and entertainment. For the price level you’re getting quite a bit for your money, including a bright and beautiful display with good contrast and detail, HDR10, build quality, 5-watt speakers, HDR10, VESA mountability, 2 x HDMI and a DP port and more. You’d need to spend much more to get the same features set and a 4K 32″ display with a VA panel. The warranty on this great budget 4K monitor is 3 years and their customer support team is based in the US.
