Lenovo B50 59422927 is an entry level modern 15.6 inch touchscreen notebook PC designed for a quality daily computing experience, surfing the internet smoothly, working comfortably on Microsoft Word or Excel, watching video from DVD- as it comes with an optical drive or streaming videos, listening to songs and a nice Windows 8.1 experience on its intuitive touchscreen. It is a good computer with decent battery life and build quality- for the price- especially for students and those on a budget but let’s see if it would be right for you.

Lenovo B50 is offered with the power efficient quad core Intel Pentium N3530 processor at 2.16GHz speed to 2.58 GHz with Turbo Boost function for improved productivity in regular daily tasks but with no hyper threading- it already has four cores, 4GB DDR3L SDRAM memory for adequate and capable multitasking and that can be expanded to 8GB, 500GB 5400rpm SATA hard drive as ample storage space that would be enough for most computer users and fast read/write times and English 64-bit version of Windows 8.1 operating system as a stable platform for your daily and more complicated tasks.

15.6 inch LED backlit HD widescreen with 16:9 cinematic aspect ratio 10-point multitouch display for easy navigation through Win 8.1 apps (it is an intuitive touchscreen that functions well), with 220 cd/m² brightness and 1366 x 768 pixel resolution for clear and sharp images, Intel HD graphics for lush visuals but not for playing the modern day 3D games at high resolutions. It offers good immersive sound through the Dolby Advanced Audio v2 and two loud speakers for its price range and a high definition webcam with an integrated microphone for smooth live chats with friends and family. This is a good computer in terms of rich multimedia features- sound, video, webcam, has a DVD drive and an HDMI port.

Lenovo B50 15.6 inch Touch Screen Laptop PC Review
Lenovo B50 59422927 weighs 5.6 pounds with the measurements of 10.30 x 15 x 1 inches- just 1 inch thin so it is relatively portable with its 15.6 inch screen as well- would fit in a standard backpack easily. Full AccuType keyboard with a 10-key numeric pad for easy number crunching and a touchpad with left and right buttons- that is responsive and also optimised for Windows 8 functions. Connectivity options include DVD±RW/CD-RW optical drive, 802.11bgn wireless LAN, 100/1000 Ethernet LAN, Bluetooth 4.0 to link to other Bluetooth devices wirelessly, an HDMI port to view your laptop screen on your large screen HDTV or an external display with a single HDMI cable for audio and video, 4-in-1 Media Card Reader that supports SD, SDHC, SDXC and MMC formats, 2 USB 2.0 ports and 1 USB 3.0 port for faster multimedia transfer.

Conclusion: We doubt you will encounter major problems with the Lenovo B50 if you’re purchasing it for daily tasks. It is easy to set-up, has a responsive touch display to use with Win 8 functions although many people still aren’t a big fan of this operating system and prefer the older Windows 7- at least you have the touch screen, good battery life at up to 5 hours, more than adequate amounts of system memory and hard drive for improved multitasking, better internet browsing and enhanced entertainment options, runs quietly and stays cool. The entry level Pentium N3530 is faster and more efficient than previous Intel Atoms and Intel HD graphics is fine for light gaming- older titles but not the current advanced games at higher settings. B50 is offered with a 30-day trial version of Microsoft Office and software like Adobe Reader and PowerDVD, 1 year limited warranty for parts and labour as well as good customer service by Lenovo. You may want to uninstall the bloatware or stuff that you won’t need for it to run more efficiently. And going through all the customer reviews on different websites, this is a highly rated PC for its price.
