Silver metal Asus Vivobook S15 S512FA-DB51 is a slim and lightweight, 2019 model 15.6-inch laptop with a Full HD display, 8th generation Intel i5 processor, 8GB memory, 256GB SSD, and Windows 10 Home operating system.
The difference between the 2018 and 2019 models is just ten dollars for an i5-8250U processor vs i5-8265U processor. The quarter 2 of 2018 release 8th generation quad-core Intel i5-8265U (6M cache) is an ultra low voltage processor with a regular TDP of 15 watts and the speeds between 1.6Ghz up to 3.9GHz with turbo boost. It runs 4 cores and 8 threads in parallel with the hyper-threading feature and has a Passmark benchmark score of 7978 as a high-end powerful processor that can handle quite a bit.
8GB DDR4 RAM offers good multitasking power for a good percentage of users to run different apps and browsers simultaneously. And the 256GB PCIe NVMe SSD offers a lot of speed and snappy performance overall when opening the files and starting and shutting down of the laptop which is already helped by the Windows 10 Home operating system. It has a metal chassis and 1.8cm z-height, Ergolift hinge ergonomic backlit chiclet style keyboard that tilts the keyboard up for comfy typing and that has the fingerprint sensor activated with Windows Hello. The hinge goes back to 130 degrees, not rotate 180 degrees.
The 15.6″ FHD frameless 4-way NanoEdge bezel display has the awesome 88% screen-to-body ratio, an ultra-slim 5.7mm bezel and the 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution. It has a 72% NTSC IPS display for large viewing angles. The built-in Intel UHD Graphics 620 has the benchmark score of 1060 as a mid-range card that lets you play some of the modern games at low settings and resolutions and can 
handle the daily media tasks. There is no optical drive, but the connectivity options include the 802.11ac wireless, Bluetooth, an HDMI output, a USB 3.1 Type-C port, USB 3.1 Type-A port, 2 x USB 2.0 ports.
Silver metal Asus VivoBook weighs 3.97 pounds and measures 14.1 x 9.1 x 0.71 inches- is compact and lightweight. It has a single M.2 slot that supports up to 512GB m.2 SATA3 SSD and a single 2.5″ HDD/SSD bay for up to a 2TB SATA at 5400rpm rotating speed. There is another RAM slot available for you to put in another 8GB of DDR4 RAM if you want more multitasking power. And the lithium polymer battery can not be replaced by the user. There is very little junkware that you need to remove on this laptop. Webcam is not the best quality if that matters to you. There is no numeric keypad on the keyboard but is very comfortable to type on. Battery life is up to 8 hours in normal use in theory. It is a powerful laptop for a variety of tasks for work and leisure except for advanced gaming and offers a great price to performance ratio.
