Toshiba Satellite S75 is a high performance very fast laptop with a 17.3 inch large screen FHD display with 1080p native support, a very powerful 4th generation Intel i7 with a Passmark benchmark score of 7924 (on the day of this review) and a large 16GB system memory to handle whatever you throw at it- even the super demanding software and multitasking of several programs so it is good for everything except for advanced 3D gaming due to a lack of at least a mid-range discrete GPU.

Toshiba Satellite S75 comes with the top of the range quad core Haswell Intel i7-4710HQ processor (6MB of L3 cache) at 2.5GHz that goes up to 3.5GHz with turbo boost and hyperthreading- four cores handling eight threads in parallel, hence better utilizing the CPU, 16GB DDR3 at 1600MHz RAM for much better multitasking- even running demanding software and apps simultaneously, a very large 1TB hard drive at 5400RPM rotating speed- plenty of storage- could be faster but still adequate read and write times and 64-bit version of Windows 8.1 operating system.

17.3 inch diagonal widescreen TruBrite TFT Full HD non-touch display with 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution, 16:9 cinematic aspect ratio and Mobile Intel HD 4600 graphics with shared graphics memory that is up to 60% faster than the standard Intel HD 4000 but about 30% faster in gaming but it doesn't have a discrete GPU for advanced gaming performance. Harmon Kardon stereo speakers are quite solid and offer rather clear sound with also the help of DTS Sound processing. It comes with a high definition good quality webcam with built-in microphone for Skype chats and video conferencing.

Silver Toshiba Satellite weighs 8 pounds with measurements of 16.3 x 12.44 x 2.12 inches so it is not really lightweight or slim but a powerful desktop replacement with solid multimedia performance. Connectivity options include Intel Dual-Band Wireless-AC, 10/100/1000 Gigabit Ethernet with RJ-45 connectivity, Bluetooth 4.0, DVDRW that writes to DVD/CD, 2x USB 3.0 ports- one of them being USB Sleep and Charge, 2x USB 2.0 ports, Memory Card Reader, an HDMI port, an RGB port, Microphone input and Headphone output jack.. We don't have the information on battery life but it is a 6-cell lithium ion battery and is reported to be fairly long by customers. It has the premium standard English keyboard with 10-key numpad and clickpad pointing device with multi-touch that is optimized for Windows 8.

Conclusion: 17.3 inch Toshiba Satellite S75 is a high end laptop that stands out with its power, speed, ease of use, longer than normal battery life, good size keyboard, very sharp Full HD large screen but it doesn't have the touch display and the keyboard is not backlit. Intel HD 4600 does not offer advanced gaming quality graphics performance , there are a couple of complaints online about the quality of touchpad and this seems to be the major con, being a little hard to use but this can be easily fixed by getting a wireless mouse. Windows 8.1 is a challenge for some but is often a learning curve and most people get used to it in a couple of days and comes with a familiar Start screen and button that is not available in Windows 8. Toshiba makes good computers and you're getting a Toshiba quality product with great features at a very affordable price.
