Toshiba PX35T-A2300 is a 23 inch All-in-One desktop with a fairly powerful and fast Ivy Bridge Intel i3 processor, clear touchscreen that supports multi-gestures, excellent sound quality with Harman Kardon speakers, generous amounts of memory and hard drive at higher speed as well as a good range of connectivity ports. All-in-One desktops are generally more expensive than the conventional desktop PCs but this one isn’t so bad considering it is a Toshiba and offers decent features and technical specs that make it suitable for home, school or business use.

Toshiba PX35T has a 3rd generation Intel Core i3-3120M smart dual core processor (3M Cache) with four way performance at 2.5 GHz base speed, 6 GB DIMM DDR3 SDRAM at 1600 MHz, 1 TB=1024GB Serial ATA hard drive at 7200 rpm rotational speed and the Windows 8 operating system.. The i3-3120M doesn’t offer the Turbo Boost function and the speed is fixed at 2.5GHz but the hyper threading function enables the dual cores to support four threads at the same time, hence the CPU is used better this way for improved performance levels. 3D transistors provide power usage efficiency although not as efficient as the Haswell counterparts.

6GB RAM is more than enough for overall dependable and smooth multitasking to run several apps and browsers simultaneously and the 1TB is great as storage space and it runs at 50% higher speed than the standard SATA hard drives which normally come at 5400rpm even on an IMac Desktop PC. Windows 8 can be a bit of a challenge at first for some but you can use the familiar desktop screen with the new Start Screen and it is actually designed for easy use with touch display that this Toshiba All-in-One has. Also remember to upgrade it to the newer Windows 8.1 through the online Microsoft Store for free.

The tilt capable glossy 23-inch Full HD 5-point multi-touch energy efficient LED-backlit display with TruBrite technology, 1920 x 1080 pixel maximum screen resolution and Intel HD Graphics offers impressive bright images with clarity and rich colours. It comes with WiDi- Intel Wireless Display to transmit your multimedia stuff to even larger screen HDTV, Sleep-and-Music function to hook up your MP3 to the USB port to listen to music through the speakers while the computer is in Sleep Mode. The DTS Studio Sound and integrated stereo speakers offer surround sound when you’re listening to songs, watching videos and playing games. The integrated graphics card that comes with the i3-3120M processor is only the standard Intel HD 4000, which is not a discrete card and can not run the latest games at higher settings but can still handle many graphics related tasks such as photo and video editing comfortably and won’t have any problems with the less visual and less demanding games- both in terms of CPU and GPU.

Silver Toshiba PX35T-A2300 weighs 18 pounds and has the measurements of 21.97 x 1.92 x 15.40 inches. It has a DVD SuperMulti drive, 4 x USB 3.0 ports for fast data transfers (one with Sleep and Music), 2 x USB 2.0 ports, an HDMI port, 802.11bgn wireless, Bluetooth 4.0, Gigabit Ethernet LAN with RJ-45 for wired connection, 1 x R/L Audio-out port, Microphone input, Headphone output, Built-in Media Card Reader that supports 6 formats, Dragon voice control to control apps with simple voice commands, Island style wireless chiclet keyboard and wireless mouse. 1 year subscription of the Norton AntiVirus, 30 day trial version of Microsoft Office and Nuance Dragon Assistant are included in the package.

Conclusion: Toshiba PX35T-A2300 is a good AIO desktop overall, with some small flaws such as the not so user friendly angular and sharp feeling mouse and the kind of shallow feel of the keys on the keyboard that still offers accurate typing (You can always get another mouse or keyboard cheaply if you feel that they are not right for you), screen is a bit glossy and the touch doesn’t feel super responsive but more than average for sure. It is an attractive looking, fairly powerful, functional and user friendly system with decent features and technical specs that both prevents the clutter on your desk and performs daily tasks quite well. We like the Harmon Kardon speakers and the surround sound, good image quality on its clear display, the size and speed of hard drive, the availability of pretty much all the connectivity ports and more - features and quality that back up its price tag.
