HP Pavilion 17-e079nr is a 17.3 inch HD screen laptop, that is reliable and powerful with a quad-core processor, plenty of memory and hard drive space. It is a decent computer with whatever you need for entertainment and work. It will allow you to do pretty much anything but not run the most memory intensive graphics editing programs or 3D games. AMD A-Series A8 quad core at 1.9 GHz, 6 GB DDR3L SDRAM, 750 GB 5400 rpm hard drive with HP ProtectSmart hard drive protection plus lifetime 25GB cloud storage from Box for free. A8 quad core processor is capable enough to help you handle all your daily stuff. But it may be a little slow for very advanced memory intensive tasks. Operating system is the Windows 8 and it is easy to get the Windows 8.1 on Microsoft store online.

This is a good choice for those that want a big screen laptop without paying too much. 17.3 inch diagonal HD+ BrightView LED-backlit display at 1600 x 900 pixel resolution with AMD Radeon HD 7640G Discrete-Class graphics- up to 3182MB total graphics is great for playing games and watching movies. It offers vibrant images and great picture quality overall on its large screen with high resolution. Sound is quite all right too through its built-in speakers and DTS Sound+ , you hear the instruments clearly and in detail.

HP Imprint finish with the micro dot design in anodized silver and black HP Pavilion 17-e079nr is 1.29 inch thick and weighs just under 6 pounds, which is not bad considering this is a 17 inch computer with a built-in DVD drive.

For connectivity, it has a SuperMulti DVD burner, 1 x USB 2.0 Port, 2 x USB 3.0 Ports, 802.11bgn wireless, 1 x Audio-out port, 10/100BASE-T Ethernet LAN (RJ-45 connector), built-in media card reader to save and share videos and pictures, HP TrueVision HD Webcam, an HDMI port, a VGA (15-pin) port, an RJ-45 (LAN) and a Headphone-out/microphone-in combo jack.

Conclusion: HP Pavilion 17-e079nr is a good large screen computer.. It would have been nice to see a touchscreen to use with Windows 8 or 8.1 and a backlit keyboard on it. Some may also think this doesn't have an Intel processor, but it is a powerful AMD A8 quad core with a large cache, 6GB memory and 750 GB RAM- which you can also upgrade to an SSD for an even better performance. Sure there are better laptops in the market with better specs but you will need to pay hundreds more to get them. Overall it is a great buy, considering also its 17.3 inch screen, good quality image and audio and solid build quality.
