Dell Inspiron 20 i3043-1252BLK is a Signature edition sleek, lightweight and relatively powerful 19.5 inch HD+ resolution All-in-One Touchscreen desktop PC with a space saving design- helping avoid clutter on your desk with tower and everything housed in monitor and with wireless keyboard and mouse. Intel Celeron is a decent entry level CPU considering this PC’s price and it doesn’t come with any of that bloatware that is common to Dell computers (this being Microsoft Signature), screen quality is quite good with the 1600x900 pixel resolution and the touch function is rather responsive and is nice to have with the Windows 8.1 structure. It sure has its cons as you really can’t expect to have the perfect machine at a very low price, such as the lack of DVD drive, USB ports all being the USB 2.0 type and the lack of a powerful discrete GPU for gaming.

Dell Inspiron 20 comes with the dual core Intel Celeron N2830 processor at 2.16 Ghz that moves up to 2.41 GHz with Intel Burst Technology but no hyper threading (so two cores and two threads- no four threads), 4GB DDR3 SDRAM memory at 1333Mz for adequate multitasking (you can run several tabs at once without delays but you do need more if you will do heavy multitasking), 500GB hard drive at 5400 rpm spindle speed as standard storage space with standard read and write times- plenty of space and speed for an average computer user though at also this budget level and Windows 8.1 operating system- 64-bit with Bing search and the new Start screen and Start button with a little different functions to the one on Windows 7, as a reliable platform to do all your daily computing- email, web browsing, general productivity and entertainment.

19.5-inch HD+ touchscreen with 10-finger multi-touch support and 1600x900 pixel resolution offers decent image quality thanks to the higher resolution than the standard HD with 1366x768 pixel resolution screens but bear in mind that this is not a FHD with IPS feature (up to 178 degree viewing angles)- something obviously you can not have at such low price. You can play those less demanding older games fluently with the built-in Intel HD graphics card with shared memory but not the latest games: Neither the Intel Celeron nor Intel HD graphics are suitable for that. Sound is provided by the Waves MaxxAudio that promises clear and loud sound so you’ll be fine when you’re listening to songs, watching movies or playing games but we do get the feeling that the audio quality is just OK, so don’t expect anything amazing here. It has a HD quality 720p webcam with integrated microphone however and you can chat easily on Skype or teleconference with colleagues.

Dell Inspiron 20 i3043-1252BLK Touchscreen Signature Edition All-in-One Desktop Review
Dell Inspiron weighs only 7.9 pounds and measures 19.27 x 1.05 x 12.31 inches so it is quite slim and light- not to be taken out and about but can be carried around the house easily and will look good on your kitchen countertop, table or desk in your living room or bedroom. It has a multi-angle kickstand (to be tiled from 20 degrees to totally flat) and the screen is VESA compatible so you can mount it on a wall. You’ll get a wireless keyboard and mouse- so no wires, cables or clutter (Keyboard travel is 2.8mm and both the mouse and keyboard feel premium). It doesn’t include an optical drive and you will need to get a low cost external DVD drive if you wish to watch videos or download software from DVD. Connectivity options include the 802.11bgn wireless (Miracast enabled), Bluetooth 4.0, LAN (10/100) for wired internet, 3 x USB 2.0 ports (no USB 3.0 port and you need to use one of the ports for the wireless receiver to connect the keyboard and mouse), an HDMI port if you’d like to hook up to your larger screen HDTV (it allows dual screens simultaneously), a Headphone output/Microphone input combo and a 4-in-1 card reader (SD/SDHC/SDXC/MMC).

Conclusion: Dell Inspiron 20 i3043-1252BLK is a sleek and functional AIO PC with a modern space saving design (remember this is a desktop, not a portable laptop so needs to be connected to a power outlet to operate- no batteries) to perform your daily tasks on its large 19.5 inch HD+ touch display- is suitable for both work and play. Intel Celeron N2830 is not too bad, 4GB memory is OK for simple multitasking and 500GB should be plenty for most computer users. It doesn’t come pre-installed with any junkware you will not need or any trial versions of software from the third parties, but it comes with a 12 month warranty by Dell and decent customer support. Windows 8.1 is still not many computer users’ favourite and we saw negative reviews based on that but really it has nothing to do with the hardware of this PC and is also nice to have the touch functionality to make things easier with Windows 8. This is not a gaming machine and is not designed to handle demanding tasks or do heavy multitasking but you still can do simple photo editing, video streaming and you can play older game titles just fine. You’re on this page checking out this computer because you’re either on a budget or do not want to spend a lot of money, and this Dell Inspiron All-in-One offers excellent value if you need the computer just for the internet, email, social media, word processing or similar tasks.
