Dell Inspiron 15.6” Touchscreen I3558-10000BLK

Dell Inspiron i3558-10000BLK is a 2017 model mid-range 15.6 inch touchscreen notebook with an ultra low voltage fifth generation i5 processor, reasonable image and audio quality, sufficient connectivity options including a DVD Drive and 802.11ac variety wireless, large memory and storage space. Technical specs include the late 2014 release Broadwell Intel i5-5200U processor (3MB cache) at 2.2GHz to 2.7GHz with turbo boost and hyper-threading for two cores and four threads, 6GB DDR3L SDRAM memory at 1600MHz that gives you enough power to run different apps and browsers simultaneously, 1TB Serial ATA HDD for ample storage space at 5400rpm rotating speed and Windows 10 64-bit OS.

For connectivity, it comes with the DVD-RW Optical Drive, an HDMI output to connect it to another monitor, 802.11ac fast and large coverage next generation wireless, Bluetooth 4.0, 10/100 Ethernet with RJ-45 connector, a USB 3.0 port, two USB 2.0 ports to connect peripherals, Media Card Reader for photo transfers that supports SD, SDHC and SDXC formats and a Headphone/microphone combo jack. The full-size keyboard is not backlit but is good enough to type on and includes a numeric keypad and a responsive touchpad.

Dell Inspiron 15.6” Touchscreen I3558-10000BLK

Black Inspiron i3558 weighs 4.83 pounds and is 0.9 inch thick- average thickness and weight for a regular 15.6 inch laptop, is neither small nor bulky. It has a 4-cell lithium ion battery that should give you around 4-5 hours of battery life (Thermal Design Power- TDP is 15 watts) and is built into the laptop so it will not be easy to replace it. With the i5-5200U processor offering enough power for multimedia, office, multitasking and demanding apps and a Passmark benchmark score of 3483, the system is not slow at all in terms of general daily performance of internet surfing, streaming and watching videos, multitasking and some light gaming like World of Warcraft or browser games. It offers plenty of storage for your media and other files and the 5400rpm spindle speed is OK but an SSD or at least a 7200rpm one could be better. You can do pretty much any of your day-to-day tasks with all the basics covered and is suitable for work, study and home use but it will not be enough for advanced users that require plenty of power and speed and they will need to spend at least a couple of hundred dollars extra. Otherwise this is a good daily things laptop.
