Ultra light and portable, functional and solid Asus Vivobook Q200E-BSI3T08 is designed for your everyday computing needs with a responsive touchscreen, a powerful processor and features you would not expect from a laptop under $500, with looks that are in par with more expensive models of Asus.

You also get a free 3GB cloud based Asus Webstorage to have access to all types of files on whichever device. Even though it may easily be mistaken to be an Ultrabook at first glance, it does not include an SSD but a 500GB hard drive. So the boot up happens to be around half a minute.

11.6-Inch WXGA multitouch display is bright enough and has a 1366x768 pixel resolution and Intel HD Graphics 4000 for good graphics performance. Touch screen is responsive and works just fine with the 64 bit version of Windows 8.

This is a low cost machine with other great features so do not expect to be able to play the most advanced 3D games on it but you can still play most games- Intel i3 processor and the Intel HD Graphics 4000 found in much more expensive models allow you to do that.

Sound quality is surprisingly great with the ASUS SonicMaster Lite technology, resonance chambers and large speakers.. Asus AudioWizard is a useful software that lets you choose between 6 pre-defined sound modes while you are listening to songs, watching movies and playing games.

Keyboard is small, given the size of the system but has a decent ergonomic design and spaced out keys. You won't get an optical drive port as it is a rather compact system but a USB 3.0 port for very quick transfers of data and an HDMI port to be able to connect to larger screens. It has a multi-touch touchpad with Smart Gesture technology, 40% larger than touch pads put on other 11 inch notebooks. Battery life is roughly 4 hours in normal use.

Conclusion: Asus Vivobook Q200E-BSI3T08 is hard to beat in its price range, for its Intel i3 processor, lightweight, great design, touch screen and awesome sound quality. It is a capable machine overall that can handle all of your daily computing tasks. So if you don't have hundreds more to spend for a laptop with higher specs, this may well be the one for you. Asus is a great brand anyway, so you always know the quality you're getting for your money.
