Gray Asus K552EA-DH41T is a 15.6 inch touchscreen notebook with a quad core AMD A4 processor, large amounts of memory and hard drive and it is good for multimedia and office applications but not so much for very demanding tasks or advanced games. This is a certified refurbished machine- meaning it has none or very little wear and comes with all the accessories it had as new and 90 day warranty.

Asus K552EA comes with a quad core AMD A4-5000 processor (2MB cache) at 1.50GHz with no turbo boost, 6GB DDR3L SDRAM at 1600MHz that can be expanded up to 8GB and offers good multitasking power either way, 750GB Serial ATA hard drive at 5400rpm spindle speed as spacious storage and fast read and write times and 64-bit Windows 8 operating system that you should upgrade to Windows 8.1 for better performance, stability and ease of use and when all four cores are in use, performance is more or less equal to Intel i3-2377M.

15.6 inch touchscreen high definition Active Matrix TFT Color LCD widescreen with 16:9 cinematic aspect ratio and 1366 x 768 pixel resolution, nice visuals for videos and games, good to have the touchscreen with Windows 8.1 if you’re the kind of person that likes using the touch function- some people don’t and it is a personal choice and AMD Radeon HD 8330 graphics card that can be compared to an Intel HD 4000 or a Radeon HD 7470m. You can play the older game titles comfortably but those of 2013 and onwards are a little hard- neither the A4-5000 CPU nor the HD 8330 GPU are fit for that, and hopefully you are not buying this PC for advanced gaming purposes? You have the 1MP HD webcam to chat with friends and family and good sound quality with Asus Sonicmaster and stereo speakers.

Asus K552EA-DH41T 15.6 inch Touchscreen Laptop Review
Attractive and modern design silver Asus K552EA has the dimensions of 1.3 x 15 x 10 inches and weighs 5.1 pounds- fairly lightweight. 37WHrs 2600 mAh lithium ion battery lasts up to 5 hours on a single charge- around 4 to 5 hours in average use. Full-size island style keyboard is not backlit but has a 10-key numeric pad that is convenient to have for easy data entry. There is no Bluetooth installed but all the connectivity one would need on a daily basis- Optical Drive- DL DVD RW/CD-RW, WiFi 802.11b/g/n wireless, Gigabit Ethernet, Memory Card Reader- supporting Secure Digital- SD card, an HDMI port to connect to your HDTV or an external HD screen, 1 x USB 2.0 port, 2 x USB 3.0 ports, a VGA port, Headphone/Microphone Combo Port, 1 Memory Slot and webcam.

Conclusion: Asus K552EA-DH41T is a good computer overall with nice specs and features. AMD A4-5000 is fine as a processor but if you’re coming from a Mac or and i5 -i7 processor PC, you will feel the difference in speed and performance, so don’t expect to run heavy demanding engineering or multimedia editing software or playing advanced games on it, having said that this system is more than fine for daily use- internet browsing, light gaming, Word and Excel and that sort of stuff. The low voltage A4-5000 processor has a maximum power consumption of 15 watts- which helps the battery life. And you will increase the overall performance by upgrading to Windows 8.1 for free online and by downloading all the Windows updates. But many people would still prefer the stability and user-friendliness of Windows 7. You are offered quite decent specs and features with a few useful ports for a low price and Asus brand trust and quality and it certainly does what it is supposed to do.
