Black D550MA-DS01 is one of the recent budget laptop computers of Asus, designed for basic everyday use- home entertainment or study, with a 15.6 inch high definition screen, proper performance with a Baytrail Celeron processor and Asus SonicMaster sound, with a very low price tag.

ASUS D550MA's Intel Baytrail-M Celeron N2815 at 1.86GHz speed that can go up to 2.13GHz with Turbo boost when necessary, offers you surprising speed and performance you may not expect for streaming movies, surfing the net and playing games but certainly not the latest demanding 3D games- as this is a small budget machine, 4GB RAM memory and 500GB HDD (both quite generous at this level) and the 64-bit version of Windows 8 operating system that can easily be updated to Windows 8.1 on online Microsoft store.

It has the Super Hybrid Engine II of Asus for 2-second instant ons from the sleep mode and even an automatic data backup when battery goes below five percent. You won't easily experience freezes or lags with 4GB memory and the N2815 processor. Other than the standard 500GB Serial ATA hard drive, you get Asus 3GB web based storage, so that you don't stress over losing your data.

15.6 inch HD display with 1366x768 pixel resolution offers clear image quality with lively colors and Intel GMA HD Graphics card is cool enough but not fit for advanced games and very demanding tasks. Sound is nothing short of spectacular for a system this cheap: SonicMaster offering real life audio with a greater bass and less deformity through the large integrated speakers, this way the sound grows and extends to the outside and you can hear every single note even in a noisy setting.

Conclusion: Asus D550MA-DS01 is packed with features you'd not hope to get from such a low-cost laptop (price was further reduced last time I checked on Amazon): Great stylish looks, slim design, 4 hrs of battery life, a very large and responsive touchpad, SonicMaster sound, HD image quality, Asus Splendid technology, ample space for storage, decent amount of memory and a fast current processor.. All there to complete your daily tasks properly and on time, stream videos and browse the web smoothly.. Highly recommended!
