Acer 13 CB5-311-T1UU is the new 13.3 inch Full HD Chromebook with NVIDIA Tegra K1 processor with strong performance and great graphics with the 192-core GPU- in fact it is the first Chromebook to house this CPU, the first Chromebook with 13.3 inch screen by Acer, also the first with 11+ hours of battery life. You’re getting the user friendly Chrome operating system on quite decent hardware at a very reasonable price.

Acer Chromebook has the new quad core ARM Cortex-A15 "r3" NVIDIA Tegra K1 processor at 2.1 GHz speed and max clock speed of 2.3 GHz, 4 GB DDR3L SDRAM to multitask smoothly, 32 GB flash memory- Solid State Drive for fast boot-ups and swift overall performance and the Chrome operating system. While delivering superior performance for its class, the Tegra K1 with the Kepler GPU is very much power efficient too. Being a quad core processor, it will let you multitask smoothly and efficiently, also combined with the 4GB memory: Listen to music, stream video, surf the net, go through your photos and run a couple of apps simultaneously without experiencing any delays or freezing.

It wakes up from sleep very quickly- almost immediately and boots up from zero in about 10 seconds. You have the advantage of not having to download any software or security upgrades manually as they will be done automatically for you in the background. Like other Chrome based systems, it comes with the integrated security features so you are protected against viruses and other evil threats- which are not as common as for Windows PCs anyway. It is good to have the SSD for overall snappier performance but you’re also getting the Cloud based Google Drive storage that backs up your files automatically as well- two years of 100GB Google Drive storage is free with the purchase of this Chromebook.

13.3 inch widescreen Active Matrix TFT Color ComfyView Full HD anti-glare LED backlit display with 1920 x 1080 pixel max screen resolution and NVIDIA Kepler GPU with 192 NVIDIA CUDA cores as the graphics coprocessor offers bright, sharp and smooth visuals improving the quality of your images and videos. 13.3 inch Acer Chromebook is about 32 percent larger than the usual 11.6 inch Chromebooks so you can work on a larger display and as it is anti-glare you can comfortably use the laptop out in the open- daylight. You have the HDMI port to hook up to the HDTV if you’d like to work or watch videos on larger screen in true HD quality. There is no Skype on Chromebooks but Google Hangouts and this model is optimised for Hangouts with the high definition webcam to let you chat comfortably with family and friends. Sound quality seems to be all right with the HD Audio and two built-in stereo speakers.

Moonstone white Acer Chromebook has the measurements of 12.87 x 8.96 x 0.71 inches and weighs 3.3 pounds so it is light and ultra-thin which means you can put it into your backpack and take wherever you go easily. You get up to 11 hours of battery life (longest in Chromebooks) from its 4-cell 3220mAh 48Wh lithium ion battery in average use, which means you can be away from the power outlets from early morning till the evening. It has a full-sized comfy keyboard without a 10-key numpad but a large touchpad that supports multiple gestures in the middle to help you work comfortably on the machine and thanks to the fanless design, it stays totally quiet even after hours of operation. It doesn’t have an optical drive but 3 times faster and with wider coverage 802.11 A/C wireless with MIMO technology, Bluetooth 4.0, 2 x USB 3.0 ports, an HDMI port and Secure Digital- SD Card Reader that supports up to 64GB SDXC.

Conclusion: Acer already dominates the Chromebook market and is definitely building more on its position with these new line of Chromebooks that includes the Chromebook 13CB5-311-T1UU. The NVIDIA Tegra K1 with the 192 core Kepler GPU seems to be rather an ambitious one for both the high end games and webpages that are loaded with content, claiming something like using the same design as the super fast and powerful computers and NVIDIA claims that the Tegra K1 is the most advanced mobile processor in the world with also very low power usage. 802.11ac wireless gives you up to 3x quicker internet connection and battery life is the longest in all Chromebooks at 11 hours in normal use. It comes with a 1 year limited warranty by the manufacturer. Although we haven’t had a chance to test the new Chromebook and it is a little early to say but looking at all the technical specs and features, it looks like the new Acer will be quite a hit soon.
