Black Aspire ATC-605-UR14 is one of the newest powerhorse desktops of Acer, with features and specs that support great performance in multimedia editing and other less demanding daily tasks. Everything seems to run so quickly and smoothly on the new Aspire ATC thanks to its 4th generation i7 processor, massive amounts of memory and storage space. Its price is fair too!

Haswell Intel Core i7-4770 processor at 3.4 GHz that goes up to 3.9 GHz with Turbo Boost Technology, 12 GB DDR3 SDRAM memory, 1 TB SATA3 hard drive at 7200 rpm hard drive, Windows 8.1 operating system.. Intel i7 processor is one of the most powerful in the market and gives you the capability to do almost everything easily, but the graphics processor is a built-in Intel HD, so although you have the super fast i7 this is not so much of a top of the range gaming machine to play the latest 3D games at high settings, but definitely suitable for multimedia, running demanding software and the rest.

12 GB RAM means you can do all the multitasking you want and will never experience any delays, along with the massive 1000 GB hard drive with a higher rotating speed than most machines out there (the standard is 5400 rpm and this one has the 7200 rpm speed). You also have the AcerCloud to gain access to your files, photos, music, videos on whichever machine at whatever location. Acer Aspire has the integrated additional security features to help keep your files and data safe.

The Intel HD graphics card will help you get very decent visuals on your monitor or LED TV and the High Definition Audio with 5.1-Channel Surround Sound Support will ensure rather satisfactory clear sound, even like the sound system of a home theater. Although the most current OS, the Windows 8 and 8.1 operating systems are still not the favorite of many, but you do have the extra functions in 8.1 that will be handy in your daily tasks and when you get accustomed to a little different structure of Win 8.1 and its customizable tiles, you'll make better use of it and enjoy it more.

The metallic finish with chrome strip modern Acer Aspire has the measurements of 14.98 x 6.89 x 16.29 inches and weighs just a bit over 20 pounds. It comes with a great variety of connectivity options, such as 802.11a/b/g/n wireless, Bluetooth 4.0+HS to link to other Bluetooth units wirelessly (including printers, speakers, keyboard), 10/100/1000 Gigabit Ethernet LAN with RJ-45 for fast wired connection, 4 x USB 2.0 Ports (rear), 2 x USB 3.0 Ports (front)- super rapid data transfer, 16X DVD±R/RW SuperMulti Drive, 1 x Audio-out port, Digital Media Card Reader -Secure Digital (SD) Card, 1 x HDMI port, 3 expansions slots, a USB keyboard and an optical mouse.. It has 12 months limited warranty of labor and parts.

Conclusion: Acer Aspire ATC-605-UR14 offers overall awesome value for dollar. Whether you'll use it for spreadsheets and word processing, crunching numbers, multimedia editing- photo processing and photoshop, running engineering software, playing songs, videos and most games, it will work smoothly and wonderfully. One thing it is criticised for is the Windows 8 operating system but that is a given in most PCs these days and you will get used to it in no time.

It boots up very quickly, wakes up from hibernation in seconds, has a beautiful design and feels sturdy, keyboard and mouse don't feel cheap, has useful ports at the front for easy access as well as rear.. You may want to install a Solid State Drive for even better performance and faster boot-ups and not sure if you would need more memory and hard drive space as they already are plenty.
