HP 15-ay191ms is the latest 2017 model 15.6 inch Flagship Signature edition laptop with mid-range technical specs and features, a touch display with 10-finger multi-touch, longer battery life and modern connectivity options. Signature Edition means the laptop comes clear of any junkware that you may need to uninstall so things can run smoothly It includes the latest 7th generation ultra low voltage Intel i3-7100U dual core processor (3MB L3 cache) at the fixed 2.40GHz speed without turbo boost and hyper-threading (two cores handling four threads) for a responsive performance and includes integrated security, 8GB DDR4 memory at 2133MHz for multitasking easily, a spacious 1TB Serial ATA hard drive at 5400rpm spindle speed and the 64-bit Windows 10 operating system.
Intel i3-7100U’s current benchmark score of 3773 indicates more than reasonable upper midrange overall performance for both the day to day and demanding tasks and the TDP- Thermal Design Power is specified as 15 watts and this will help with longer battery life and you can expect an average of 6 hours. There is a SuperMulti DVD Optical Drive on the right hand side, an HDMI output, 802.11bgn wireless (Miracast enabled), Bluetooth 4.0, Ethernet LAN for wired internet, a USB 3.0 port, 2 x USB 2.0 ports, Multi-format SD Card Reader, Headphone output/Microphone input combo and Kensington Lock. 15.6 inch WLED-backlit high definition touch display supports 10-finger multi-touch and has a resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels- vibrant screen with good contrast and colors. Graphics card is the Intel HD 620 with a benchmark score of 879 you can expect average media performance and should let you play light games at the highest settings with a similar overall performance to the dedicated NVIDIA 930M. The Intel i3 processor on this laptop supports 4K resolution.
It has the good quality HP TrueVision HD webcam so you can comfortably chat live with your friends. The DTS Studio Sound will help offer decent quality- full, loud and clear sound with deep bass and nice overall listening experience when you’re playing songs or videos. Turbo silver HP 15-ay191ms is made of all plastic but is sturdy enough and is sleek and modern enough, weighs 4.6 pounds with the measurements of 15.12 x 10.02 x 0.95 inches- is lightweight and portable with also decent battery life from its 31WHr 3-cell lithium-ion battery. It is easy to set up and you’ll appreciate that there is no junkware that you need to uninstall, unlike on majority of new laptops and will run smoothly straight out of the box. There is no backlighting on the keyboard but the keys feel nice to type on and includes a 10-key numpad and a not so great trackpad with left and right buttons. For the lower price point, this is a pretty good machine with very modern specs and overall mid-range specs and good connectivity, along with a responsive touchscreen with a reasonable image quality. Good value computer that we recommend, especially if you’re on a budget.
